I am interested in being a part of the midlands textile forum. I live and work in redditch and I produce embroidered mixed media work. I did a degree in constructed textiles in london in 1992 and have worked as a textile artist and primary teacher scince then. I have now given up teaching to raise a family and to work on my textile art.
I would eventually like to take on a role in the management group but with an 8 month old and another baby due in May dont know how feasible this would be!!!
Oh by the way do I need a website because I am in the process of looking into setting one up at present?
I have just noticed the address is this the RBSA gallery if so you may remember my textile work ‘Breaking Cover’ which won a prize at your last friends exhibition.

My work involves the use of batik, machine embroidery and collage, reverse applique and silk painting. My inspiration is the landscape, its detail, colour and texture. Recent work involves a combination of batik on paper with machine embroidery.

I am interested in an online forum for discussion of textile related issues in general. I live in Suffolk and there are few textile groups in this region apart from the Embroiderers Guild. I work in mixed media textiles including some paper, stitching onto paper, using a heat gun on various materials and am particularly interested in surface texture / decoration.
