Textile tutors, lecturers, speakers

advertise your services on our listing

What do I get?

You get a page like this (click your back button to get back here), where you can display a short biography, the workshops and lectures you offer, any additional details and contact information. You can also include two or three small images of your work and one of yourself if you wish.

This is an opportunity for you to publicise your services to people interested in all aspects of the textile arts. TextileArts.net currently averages 43000 page hits a month.

What does it cost?

We have two modes, payment mode and contribution mode.

Payment mode

You pay an annual rate for the page - £20 (GBP) a year, with an additional one time set-up fee of £20. We can accept payment by bank transfer (preferred); by credit or debit card via PayPal; or by sterling cheque drawn on a UK bank. The price includes UK VAT at 15%. If you are outside the EU, or if you are inside the EU (but outside the UK) and are registered for VAT, please let us know at the time of purchase.

Contribution mode

To support TextileArts.net, you write a short article for the site about an area of textiles in which you have expertise - this could be any kind of interest, for example

an aspect of historical or contemporary textiles
overview or a particular aspect of a technique or artform
an artist or genre
other ideas - we are open to suggestions!

The article is linked with your advertisement page, so it gives people a 'taster' of your work as a tutor/speaker. You can also include a link to your own web site on both pages. Please read the "fine print" below for more detail about what we need.

For each year that you remain on the listing, we will ask you to provide a new article. In return, you can make major changes to your listing annually, and minor changes (within reason) to keep it up to date during the year.

I'm interested - what do I do next?

Please email Fiona Dix at TextileArts.net, , putting "TextileArts.net tutors listing" in the subject line. Don't send any files at this stage, just introduce yourself and we'll take it from there.

The fine print

Articles written for TextileArts.net should be between 500 - 1000 words, with two or three images, on a subject of your choice to which we have agreed. Aim for something that represents a flavour of what you teach or speak about and leaves readers keen to learn more.

Articles must be your own original work which you have the right to publish. Accompanying images that are not your own can only be used with permission from the copyright holder. The copyright in your article(s) will remain with you, but TextileArts.net may maintain the articles in their entirety on the web even if you decide not to participate in future.

You must provide the information electronically, ideally by email - images must be digital and text in a common format: MS Word, PDF or just plain text in an email are all fine. We will advise.

Your listing will follow a common format and style that identifies it as part of this section of TextileArts.net, with your own colour scheme which we base on your images unless you request the use of particular colours.

TextileArts.net reserves the right to place advertising on the article pages. Your own display page will not carry third-party adverts, but will appear within the TextileArts.net structure (header/footer, etc).
